Occupational roles in Education
Teacher / LecturerThey both has similar responsibilities, the title depends on the age range taught and where they are being taught. Both roles will require delivering, planning and learning creating a suitable educational programme.
QTS - Qualified teacher status is required or PGCE - Post graduate certificate in Education.
A Lecturer is likely to teach in further education and higher education, could be A - Levels, T - Levels or any vocational qualification. Lecturers need up to date knowledge of the subject area. For example all Early Years Staff head in to an Early Years provision in the summer. This is known as industry updating.
